We walked there to see it but the number of "street vendors" selling (pushing) trinkets was detracting from the experience. After some pictures we left to walk along the Seine and had a nicer time of that.
Do the climb with a tour guide! They are super knowledgeable and give great history about not only the eiffel but all of paris! Climb to the second viewing deck, and then take a lift to the summit. Worth every penny. Security line is VERY long, so do the first morning tour available and get there early!
I would recommend going to the top it's a must, at least once in your life, but it can be very crowded and if you manage to do it during sunset it's worth the wait and crowds, also I would recommend take the stairs down for the mid point, it's a whole different experience
The Tower is covered in Twinkle lights that go off starting at 9pm and last for 5 minutes. They go off every hour on the hour. We went up to the summit before sunset and stayed till dark. I think the lights were prettier from the ground, but being able to see the vista both in daylight and in the dark was worth it!
If you dont book your tickets ahead of time for a weekend day, you might want to consider a late night visit. We went around 10:30pm and made the last run. There was a small line and we walked right on the lift.
We went to the top! Get your tickets in advance. Expect lines even with an appointment. DO NOT PUT DOWN YOUR BAG/PURSE for even one second. Thieves are everywhere at tourist sites, especially the tower and Trocadero.

Breakfast choice good and well replenished. Breakfast room slightly small for size of hotel so can become quite busy at times. Very friendly staff. Very clean room decorated in modern style and well presented. Great location with Metro station right outside with 3 metro lines. Great local area and much less busy and much quieter than other parts of Paris centre. Great local restaurants and amenities. Only 10 minutes leisurely stroll to Eiffel Tower. Would be more than happy to stay here again.

The balcony with the view of the Eiffel Tower. The location was exactly as described, excellent for walking and within two blocks of public transportation. The bathroom was actually quite large which is unusual for many Paris hotel rooms. A wonderful perk was Handy, a mobile phone at no extra charge to use during your stay, loaded with apps such as google maps, sightseeing suggestions etc as well as local and international calls. The staff was conscientious and supportive

The location and the views of the Eiffel Tower were top notch. Seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkling every night from our apartment living room and dining room was awesome.. The building is lovely. The apartments are nice. Things were clean. There were many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Grocery stores within walking distance if you want to save money by cooking something in the hotel room kitchen.

Breakfast was good with choices. The bedroom was comfy and the bed was very nice too. We got upgraded for free and had a view over the city of Paris. The view itself isn't the most amazing one as the hotel is quite away from the center itself, but you could still see the Eiffel Tower. Staff were nice. Clean bedroom.

Loved the view! (Eiffel tower). The room was spacious (for Paris standards) and comfortable, with a sofa by the window, small fridge, tea kettle. Really liked the big towel size. Hotel itself is conveniently located next to a shopping mall, metro and RER C stations, so it was easy to get around.

We had a real view of the city below the hill... #414 is a true room with a view of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it more. The hotel also has a great location on the hill, but just outside the really busy tourist streets. Love it...

Wonderful contemporary hotel in the heart of a Paris neighborhood within walking distance to Eiffel Tower and more. Loved the location, staff, rooms. Will be back from personal and work trips.
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
