Since we only had one day after our cruise, we definitely want to return to see all of Lisbon and the surrounding areas! We fell in love with the colors, tiles, architecture, food and people! Most of our day was in the Alfama neighborhood. We walked through the Saturday market, and found nicer products farther up the hill. We enjoyed the unique variety of items being sold! We walked along the riverside, watched the sunset with the bridge and statue as backdrops; then dinner near our hotel, and a short rest in our comfy room at Hotel Riverside Alfama, before our 2:45am taxi picked us up right in front of the hotel and we had an easy trip to the airport. Our Lisbon experience was short, but fantastic!!
Lisbon is a beautiful city, a wonderful city to walk in (but be prepared for a lot of hills!) The Portuguese people are very friendly, maybe a little less so in Lisbon than in the other main cities and the countryside, but even the people of Lisbon are, in general, helpful and congenial. The cafes and bakeries are wonderful. There's a lot of nice, old architecture. Plenty of sites to visit for tourists. Plenty of nice neighborhoods to discover. Also, for the budget-oriented traveler, Lisbon and Portugal in general is a very reasonably priced place to visit. The food is real affordable. It's easy to find nice places to stay at affordable prices, especially outside of Lisbon. Affordable lodging in Lisbon that is also well-kept is a little more difficult to find, but possible.
We just had an overnight stay between two flights. We had intended to visit the aquarium but found the hotel room so pleasant that we stayed in. From previous visits I can recommend the aquarium and the castle. The former Expo site and the funicular in town are fun too. El Corte Ingles is good if you like shopping - like the big stores in London but more laid back :-)
Awesome experience. Get a pass at the metro station for the days you'll be there and it will cover bus, tram, subway, and you will never be stranded! I paid 12 euro for two days and I used it a lot. Take tram 28 up the hills for the full ride and experience Lisbon. I stayed at the 7 hotel for 47 euro. They even gave me a ceramic tile (with Hotel 7 on it of course) but still cool....it was free and I'll use it! Have their little custard pies. Sooo yummy.
We stayed in four different hotels in Portugal during two week stay. VIP Executive Arts Hotel was by far the worst and definitely not a highlight. We enjoyed dinner at a typical Fado Restaurant- the Faia. It was a once in lifetime experience. While we had a rental car, we enjoyed walking around the areas we stayed. It wasn't our first trip to Portugal but it was the first time we stayed near the Vasco de Gama mall. We will definitely stay a different hotel.

Amazing location - located right in the middle of the city centre close to everything! Maria the owner was soooo lovely and was so helpful. She let me leave my big luggage in storage while I had to leave Lisbon for a week. The restaurant downstairs that is part of the hostel cooks delicious authentic Portuguese food and very cheap as well. The rooms and bathrooms were always clean. Will definitely be coming back because Maria was the best!!!

Exceptional customer service. The staff is truly amazing! On a short visit to Lisbon, they were eager to provide me with all the needed information to make the most out of my stay. Check-in/out was great. Convenient location from/to airport; underground parking. The room was comfortable, modern and VERY clean. I travel frequently and this was by far, my best experience staying in a hotel even among the heavyweights of the industry.

Hotel was clean and tidy throughout with welcoming staff. Location was handy for cheap(ish) food and drinks with a couple of places round the corner the best, 100 montaditos and Superchef! Room rate includes and all you can eat style breakfast with eggs, beans, ham, cheese and a multiplicity of breads to choose from, savoury or sweet! All in all a great hotel, a taste of luxury after staying in hostels and what not!

We loved everything. The rooms were a bit small but it’s what u would expect in the neighborhood. It’s a fantastic location and the restuarant Bastardo was amazing. The Concierge was so helpful with everything for us, it was our first time in Lisbon they helped us with our dinner, sights and everything in general Nuno and Jorge were the best. We love this hotel.

The location is great. The staff, especially Edmir ( I hope that I got his name correctly) and Igor, are helpful and responsive, having quickly addressed my concerns about the air conditioner. The breakfast, which is offered at the nearby hotel that runs this casinha, is the best among all hotels at which I have stayed in Lisbon and Portugal in general

The service is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Although the place is around 3-4km from the centre, I would choose it again for my next visit to Lisbon. The reason is the service and value for money. The room price is not cheap but way more reasonable than the hotels in the city centre.

If you are looking for a hotel close to the airport for a early morning flight this is the best place. Only 10 euros to the airport as opposed to a 40 euro price from the city center & taxies are available right outside the door.

Amazing hotel! Staff were all very friendly and gave excellent service, they were always happy to help and answer any questions. The facilities were really nice, lovely room, comfortable bed, really clean, modern, great power shower with LED lights. The hotel is in a central location with a metro stop only a minute walk. It is next to a police station so you feel very safe. You get an Android phone for the duration of your stay which was preloaded with useful apps such as Citymapper, which is such a great idea and service. I would also recommend the hotel bar as the cocktails are some of the best I've tasted. The barman was really knowledgeable and helped us with our choices based on what we liked. Fabulous hotel, with excellent staff and great facilities.
